Ingredients

  • ½ cup fresh or frozen raspberries
  • 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or coconut milk)
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream (or coconut cream)
  • 1 tbsp keto-friendly sweetener (erythritol, stevia, or monk fruit)
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds or flaxseed (optional, for extra fiber)
  • Ice cubes (as needed)

Equipment

  • 1 Blender
  • 1 Measuring Cups & Spoons
  • 1 Glass or smoothie jar
  • 1 Spatula

Method

  1. Make the Raspberries: To make the fruity base of the smoothie, pop some fresh or frozen berries into your blender.
  2. Add Cocoa & Sweetener: Stir in unsweetened cocoa powder and your favorite keto-friendly sweetener to totally fill the cup with chocolate flavor and just the right amount of sweetness.
  3. Pour Liquids: Add in the unsweetened almond milk and heavy cream (or coconut cream), for a luscious silky texture.
  4. Optional Boost: For a nutritional boost and added creaminess, add chia seeds or flaxseeds for fiber and satiety.
  5. Blend into Smooth: Whiz all ingredients together to form a creamy puree.
  6. Serve and Enjoy: Pour your smoothie into a tall glass, if desired add some ice cubes, decorate with raspberries or dark chocolate shavings and happily consume all the goodness!

Notes

  • Add frozen raspberries instead, which will make it thicker and somewhat milkshake.
  • And toss in a scoop of keto protein powder for an invigorating boost of nutrients.
  • Top with shaved dark chocolate or a few fresh raspberries.
  • Taste, and adjust sweetness if you like.
  • Refrigerate your almond milk before blending for a cooler, more refreshing drink.
