Ingredients

  • cups almond flour
  • 5 tbsp psyllium husk powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or melted butter

Equipment

  • 1 Mixing bowls
  • 1 Whisk or spoon
  • 1 Loaf pan
  • 1 Measuring Cups & Spoons
  • 1 Oven

Method

  1. Preheat Oven: Start of by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C) and greasing a loaf pan with some butter or oil.
  2. Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together almond flour, psyllium husk powder, baking powder and salt. Mix thoroughly to avoid lumps.
  3. Add Wet Ingredients: Use a whisk to mix eggs, warm water, and olive oil into the flour to make a thick dough. The psyllium will absorb moisture rapidly to form a thick mixture.
  4. Shape and rest: Pour the dough into the loaf pan and smooth out with your hands and let it sit for 5-10 minutes to rise.
  5. Baking and cool: Bake for 50 minutes until golden brown. Insert a toothpick — if it comes out clean, it is done. For best texture, let it cool completely before slicing.

Notes

  • Warm water will help the psyllium husk to absorb.
  • Cool the bread completely for optimum slicing.
  • Keep in an airtight container to keep them soft.
