Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 2 tbsp roasted hazelnuts (or hazelnut butter)
  • tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp keto-friendly sweetener (erythritol/monk fruit)
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream (or coconut cream)
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 ice cubes

Equipment

  • 1 High-speed blender
  • 1 Measuring Cups & Spoons
  • 1 Spatula
  • 1 Glass or Mason Jar

Method

  1. Blend Hazelnuts: Place roasted hazelnuts or hazelnut butter in a high-speed blender and blend until they become smooth. This is your nutty smoothie base.
  2. Add Cocoa & Sweetener: Whisk in unsweetened cocoa powder and sweetener of choice. This does the trick for rich, chocolatey Nutella flavor without sugar.
  3. Pour in Liquids: Stir in unsweetened almond milk, heavy cream, and vanilla extract. Those three ingredients make the smoothie light and super creamy.
  4. Add Ice Cubes: Add a few ice cubes to cool and adjust the consistency, for that chilled experience.
  5. Blend Smoothly: Mix well until you get a smooth and silky consistency.
  6. Serve & Enjoy: Pour into a glass, garnish with more whipped cream or crushed hazelnuts if desired and enjoy while fresh.

Notes

  • For extra creaminess, go with cold coconut cream instead of heavy cream.
  • Toss in a scoop of unsweetened protein powder, and it’s also a post-workout drink.
  • Its great if you toast the hazelnuts lightly before blending – for an even more Nutella experience!
  • If you prefer it sweeter, just add in the sweetener by taste little by little.
  • You can also freeze almond milk into cubes in advance for an icy texture.
