  • 1 unsweetened almond milk (or coconut milk)
  • 2 heavy cream
  • unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 keto sweetener (erythritol, monk fruit, or stevia)
  • ½ vanilla extract
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • Sugar-free whipped cream (optional topping)

Equipment

  • 1 Saucepan
  • 1 Whisk
  • 1 Measuring cups and spoons
  • 1 Serving mug

Method

  1. Heat Milk: Pour unsweetened almond milk into a small saucepan and warm it over medium heat, making sure it doesn’t boil.
  2. Stir in Cocoa & Sweetener: Stir in your unsweetened cocoa powder, keto sweetener and pinch of salt stirring until fully dissolved and smooth.
  3. Incorporate Cream: Stir in the heavy cream, which gives the hot chocolate a rich, velvety texture.
  4. Include Vanilla: Stir in vanilla extract for enhanced flavor and a warm smell.
  5. Whisk Well: Continue whisking until the mixture is creamy and slightly frothy.
  6. Taste & Adjust: Check the sweet levels and adjust if required, by adding sweetening agent as per requirement.
  7. Serve & Enjoy: Pour into a mug, add a dollup of sugar-free whipped cream, and if you’re feeling fancy dust with cinnamon or chocolate shavings.

Notes

  • Use Coconut milk instead of almond milk will make this soup even creamier.
  • Employ a hand-held frother to foam it up even more.
  • A sprinkling of cinnamon or nutmeg will give it a warm, cozy flavour.
  • Sweetness can be adjusted according to your taste.
  • Top with sugar-free chocolate shavings to make it look like you had it at a cafe
