Prepare the Thickener: Add 1 tsp xanthan gum to for 2 tbsp of water in a small bowl. Mix well to create a smooth slurry.
Heat the Base: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine all ingredients. Pour in chicken broth, soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic and ground ginger. Bring to a gentle simmer.
Add the Thickener: Drizzle the xanthan gum slurry into the simmering liquid. Keep whisking to avoid getting lumps and does get thickened evenly.
Adjust the Seasoning: Season the gravy with salt or pepper if necessary. Pour a little soy sauce for that extra layer of flavor.
