Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or coconut milk)
  • ½ cup brewed coffee (chilled)
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream (or coconut cream for dairy-free)
  • 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp almond butter (optional for extra creaminess)
  • 2 tbsp erythritol or preferred keto sweetener
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • Ice cubes (as needed)

Method
 

  1. Brew Your Coffee: Begin by brewing a strong pot of coffee and let it cool until room temperature before using because cold coffee is the best way in smoothies.
  2. Prepare Blender: Add unsweetened almond milk, heavy cream, unsweetened cocoa powder and sweetener of choice to a blender, along with chilled coffee.
  3. Add Flavour Boost: For extra creaminess and richness, include almond butter. Drop in a handful of ice cubes to make the smoothie cold and frothy.
  4. Mix Until Smooth: Combine everything together on high speed for an entire 30 – 40 seconds, or until its completely smooth and lump-free. Shut off sweetness ratio according to if it’s necessary.
  5. Fresh Serve: Serve the smoothie in serving glasses. Top with a little cocoa powder or shaved dark chocolate for that café feel. Eat at once for the best taste and texture.

Notes

  • Brew your coffee before hand and chill it for a softer blend.
  • Sweeten to taste with keto-approved sweeteners for an authentic coffeehouse experience.
  • (If you like, add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg for more fragrance.)
  • Freeze coffee in ice cube trays so it won't water down the smoothie.
  • A dairy-free and thicker version can be made of coconut cream.
