  • 2 cups almond flour
  • 2 tbsp psyllium husk powder
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ cup warm water
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional for topping)

Method
 

  1. Make the dough: Mix the almond flour, psyllium husk, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Mix well.
  2. Add wet mix: Beat the eggs together with olive oil and warm water in a separate bowl and mix with the dry ingredients. Stir until a dough forms.
  3. Form the buns: Cut the dough in 4 pieces and form 4 round buns. Spoon them onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Add toppings: Dress it with sesame seeds to give the impression of a traditional hamburger bun.
  5. Bake: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake buns for 20 minutes or until golden brown and hollow.
  6. Cool & serve: Allow the buns to sit for 10 minutes before cutting and using for burgers.
