  • 1 tbsp chia seeds (optional)
  • 1 tbsp low-carb sweetener (erythritol/stevia, optional)
  • 4 ice cubes

Equipment

  • 1 Blender
  • 1 Measuring Cups
  • 1 Measuring Spoons
  • 1 Glass or Mason Jar

Method

  1. Ingredients Ready: Bring together blackberries, almond milk, yogurt or cream and chia seeds, low-carb sweetener, ice cubes. That works with fresh or frozen blackberries.
  2. Combine in Blender: Add everything to the blender and start with the liquid (almond milk) first so that everything blends together easier.
  3. Blend Until Smooth: Process the mixture on high speed for about 30–40 seconds, or until the smoothie is creamy and free of lumps.
  4. Taste and Adjust: Adjust the flavour and sweetness. For a sweeter taste, throw in just a tad more of keto-approved sweetener and blitz through again.
  5. Enjoy: Transfer smoothie to a glass or mason jar. Garnish with a couple blackberries on top if desired. Serve right away for maximum flavour and nutrition.

Notes

  • Add frozen blackberries for a more milkshake-like consistency.
  • If you want it to be a complete meal, stir in scoop of protein powder.
  • Thin it out by cutting back on your almond milk or thicken it up by adding more!
  • If you like, add a pinch of cinnamon or some vanilla extract to the mix.
  • For a dairy-free rendition, Greek yogurt can be swapped out
